Pipedrive to HubSpot CRM Migration
Migrating the data was the beginning. Making HubSpot useful afterwards was the real project.
The challenge
CDQ needed to leave Pipedrive without importing the same stages, ambiguity and operating habits into HubSpot. The records had to move — but the destination had to carry a clearer commercial process than the source.
My role
Responsible for the Pipedrive-to-HubSpot migration, CRM architecture, sales-process design/configuration and ongoing HubSpot development.
What I did
- Migration requirements and data mapping
- CRM architecture and pipeline design
- Sales-process conceptualisation and configuration
- Ownership, users and migration validation
- Automation and ongoing HubSpot operations
A key decision
HubSpot was designed around the sales process. Pipedrive was the source of records, not the blueprint for the new CRM.
From Pipedrive to an operating CRM
What changed
HubSpot became the operating CRM rather than simply the landing place for migrated Pipedrive data.
What this project demonstrates
A CRM migration is a design problem. If you only move data, you usually recreate the previous system with better software.
